Both Nitu and Ashish were born and bought up in the economic capital of Bombay. While Ashish has worked for years with the leading hospitality brands, Nitu dedicated her time to social causes.

An adventurous person who spent his earlier days trekking in Nepal and other remote Himalayan Villages or cycling the mountains of Spiti. For both, the great outdoors was a childhood passion. And after they got united, they decided to realize the long-time dream together. It was in 2021 when they both finally left modern city life behind to start up the Umaria Safari Camp and to pursue their call for an existence away from the noise of the suburbs and closer to unannounced adventures.

Ashish and Nitu spared no effort to set up these magnificent tents in the jungle for comfort and leisure. And their intent shows in every element and experience of the camp. Ashish used his years of experience working with luxury hotel brands to visualize the camp design. Nitu, with her affable personality and kindness, has created a home in the wilderness for themselves as well as for several locals who contribute to the smooth running of the operations here.
